More About this Business

The Whitefish Bike Retreat is not just a place to stay, but a place to experience!

The Retreat is offers a Lodge with immediate access to the Whitefish Trail and a convenient location near local cross-country and downhill biking trails that are minutes away and offer a variety of riding adventures. Additionally, the Great Divide Route, the Northern Tier Route, the Great Parks Route and countless more riding trails are located throughout Northwest Montana and provide miles of open gravel and paved roads to tour at your leisure. You can begin or end your journey here or stop by for a night's rest along your way.

Riding happens year-round at the Whitefish Bike Retreat! This winter, WBR will have a ~1.5 mile groomed snow trail network just for fat biking. The trail is free for all, but guests are encouraged to drop a few dollars in the donation jar to help cover the cost of trail grooming. If you want to try fat biking but don't have a fat bike of your own, you're in luck! The Whitefish Bike Retreat has a fleet of rental bikes for only $45/day (or $35/day for multi-day rentals).

We welcome all adventurers throughout the whole year. It is a place where cyclists or adventurers can come together to enjoy one another, learn from one another, and help one another. No worries if you don't want to ride; come and enjoy the area, the activities and the trails that Northwest Montana has to offer as a hiker, skier or runner. Or, just paddle one of the many pristine lakes close by. Glacier National Park and Whitefish Mountain Resort are close and offer a range of outdoor activities both in the summer and winter.

What the Media and Critics Are Saying

Daily Interlake - Fat And Happy
"Once Mother Nature has spit ice and snow onto their favorite routes, many Flathead Valley cyclists succumb to the elements and toss a blanket over their bike in the corner of the garage.
Luckily, the fatbike sensation is turning winter into another active season for cyclists."

pinkbike Online Magazine - Destinations: The Whitefish Bike Retreat
"From the very moment of our arrival, we were treated like family."

FreeHub Magazine -
"The Retreat is dialed for bikers, from the general concept down to the smallest detail." "It is a unique establishment to Montana and to mountain biking in general."

Whitefish Pilot -
"A Bike ReTREAT" -"Every detail has been considered...the Retreat is about catering to the trail-weary rider."

Woman's Adventure Magazine -
"The newly opened Whitefish Bike Retreat is a hub for cycling and bike packing and cycling in the region, where people can come together to meet partners, tell stories, learn skills, and find out about new places to ride."

Flathead Beacon -
"Oasis In The Woods" - "Given the plush-centric amenities and the two-wheeled aesthetic of the lodge-like accommodations, getting going is easier than done, and some bikers find themselves lingering on the couch with a pastry and a hot cup of Pedal Push, the Retreat's Montana Coffee Trader's blend."

CBC Radio - Eyeopener Show -
"A cycling destination south of the border worth the drive!" "The Retreat is a surprise and has everything is there for you!"
