ITINERARY: Family Time
Making the most out of a family vacation

Children of all ages will find plenty of fun activities in Whitefish all year long.

In the winter, when little legs need a break from the ski hill, try a sleigh ride at the Bar W or ice skating at the Stumptown Ice Den.

Late spring, summer and fall are always a good time to rent a canoe or kayak from Paddlefish Sports or Sportsman Ski Haus to paddle on the river, play at City Beach, rent bikes for a casual pedal along the bike paths, or whoosh down the Alpine Slide at Whitefish Mountain Resort for some thrilling fun.

Any time of year, the pool at the WAVE Aquatic and Fitness center is a big hit (and even offers drop-in daycare if mom and dad need a break), or go to the Stumptown Art Studio downtown to create a memorable piece of art to take home. The Whitefish Community Library regularly offers reading times.

Round out activities with a visit to the Dave Olseth Memorial Skate Park or explore the nearby forests on horseback or taking a kid-friendly hike on the Whitefish Trail.

And the end to every kid’s perfect day finishes with homemade ice cream or hot cocoa.
